Think my card is dying. over the past 2 weeks i,ve had 4 black screens with a monitor message saying (no input signal). plus the fan has started to rattle like hell when at low speed, seems to go ok above 50%.

I had a look on asus site, that states under vga 3 year warranty (contact reseller). the problem is the damn thing works most of the time, apart from a noisy fan. so taking to oc for testing might result in a bill as its sort of works.
got the card on 15th may 09 btw.

now i don't know what to do. wait till it gives up all together or what. any help would be great fully received.

It may not be your card, you could have dodgy 12v rail feeding a non stable supply of eclectic, or overheating. I suggest you stress test your PC with Prime95 and Furmark/ATI tool Artifacting scanner and see if you can get your PC to crash, if your PC doesn’t crash with either of these apps running run both at the same time.

I think one of my 4890s on the way out also... getting artifacts on my desktop sometimes more than 50+ same sort of timespan as you also!

update
tested 3d06 on a loop for 2hr. seemed fine. all so ran ati artifacting scanner plus prime95 at the same time for little over hr & 1/2, no crash's. but not sure if thats really enough.

can't see it been the 12v rail. using a thermaltake 1200w psu that sits at 12.5v . only ever seen it go down to 12.1v once.

might well of been as you said heat. 4-6hr of gaming in this hot weather could possably the reson.

One of mine has also begun to die. Not noticed any problems ingame yet but the fan has started to make very loud clacking sounds. Its just over a year old.
