Not done much GFX card OCing, so would appreciate some advice.

Would people advise I use Rivatuner ? Is it the most approachable/user friendly solution.

What are the alternatives to Rivatuner ?

My card (XFX 1Gb 4890) is idling at 55-60C. Is this a little high ?

It's in an Antec 1200, i7-920, 6Gb Corsair Dominator RAM, 850W Coolermaster PSU. Nothing is presently OCed.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice and will do as suggested. note some warnings from the reviews there about the XFX version (which mine is) so we'll see how it goes when it arrives (the cooler).

I've read the 4890 are hungry and hot. Does 55C idle sound average or is that high ?

if you dont manually adjust the fan speed generally the fan doesnt kick in til about 55-60+ so yea sadly idle will be around that. however i tend to leave the fan at 50% so its floating nearer the 45-50 mark.
i think i might also invest in some cooling and quietning of my 4890, its also xfx.
can i ask has anyone tried the gelid icy vision? i know it may be over the top but it certain will cool well.
