Hey guys.

I just got two of those PowerColor 4890 PCS+ cards.

On a few games today this is what I'm getting:

I know theyre going to run pretty hot at that speed but was wondering if anyone had an idea what sort of temperature I should be seeing with them?

Cheers >.<

what case have you got?
what cooling do you have installed/fans?

I'm getting one of these so I'm interested.

Sorry it took a while, camera was dead.

Airflow is pretty good really. Has that 140?mm fan chucking air straight up to the cards and out the top. Nothing in the way or anything :/

I use to have 2 of those cards, sent them back becuse there fans SUCKED.
not to mention airflow wasnt that great with them either.

and finaly your temps look about right for those cards with that type of cooler
but there very bad thats for sure, i would hate to know what your VRM temps are,

do a idle and load test again but this time write down for us your VRM temps you can view those with rivatuner or gpu-z

ATI state that the cards can comfortable handle temps of up to 100 degrees.

Card 1 seems fine, card 2 however doesnt, but that is what happens with dual card set ups.

As l write this my Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4890 PCS+ BattleForge Edition 1024MB is idling at 41c, when l was gaming the other night load AV-62c.

if you have one of those cards then it will be fine, if you get 2 for crossfire then one of them wont be fine it will cook.

I just got one of the £121 PowerColors with the new style sink\fan today and just given it a basic work out. I'm sure I didn't stress it as much as I could but this is what I did

Played HAWX on highest graphics settings (though my monitor is only 1280x1024).

Used GPU-Z for readings and this is what I got

GPU Temp - 56-66
DISP Temp - 56-65
Mem Temp - 60-72

Fan speed went upto 55%

Cheers,

Nigel

Although I should add I'm running at stock 850MHz where as your battleforge has a high overclock as standard.
