I have a 4890 toxic and while runing furmark i get temps at 87-88 degrees,
reading reviews they should be much cooler than this.

What does everybody elses 4890s run at?

My XFX 4890 runs at around 57-59 degrees idle and around 64-65 load with the fan control set to auto.

just noticed i hav a sound card directly under my graphics card so there is only a very small gap for the fan to draw in air, could this be the reason for high temps?

Ive moved the soundcars but had to replace it with my wireless card wh cover 1/4 of the fan still but temps are now at 83 max using furmark.

Still seems quite high

If you're worried just set the fan speeds manually? The highest I saw the auto setting take the fan speed to was 28% which is lower than the minimum setting I have it on manually.. Try it at 35% manual and see if it's too noisy for you via the Catalyst Control Panel > ATI Overdrive

I personally think Toxic runs too hot and the fan is louder than the vapor versions..

Cooling, noise reduction together with performance makes vapor the better choice. I think OcUK use to stock these, they don't anymore :/
