hello, my question is should i go for 4890x2 instead of 4870x2? i noticed that the 4890 is the latest ati video card is it correct? and is it worth going for 4890x2 ? mine max resolution going to be 1680x1050.

with the 4870x2 you will get a benefit on framerates, you will be able to max out your game without it slowing down except for the odd few titles like Crysis.

I would go for the 4870x2, slight overkill means you wont get poor framerates.

The single card may dip in framerate a bit in graphic intensive parts of some games.

lol not this again.

A 4890 will get you very good framerates at 1680x1050 in pretty much all titles.

but the framerate is definately better with the x2 even at that resolution, but i would personally get the 4890 and then sell it and upgrade when the new cards come out.

i am not really trying to save the buck here, i mean i would like to but i want to play games at best performance/graphics it is posible to get, i want to enjoy the free time when i spend it on the pc :) sounds reasonable does not it?, what i was wondering all about if that the 4890 is better than the 4870x2 . if its not i will probably go for gtx 295.i seen many people saying that the 4870x2 is a great video cards they adding into their baskets like everywhere, would that video card last for 2 years by a chance on the resolution i mentioned? the pc i am going to buy on the next month gonna cost around 1.4k-1.5k i7 based. :)

p.s. which is the best of ati cards ? and what video card would u suggest which could last for at least 1-2 years for a max out graphic games on 1680-1050 resolution?

If you are going ot be building in 1 month then you'll be even closer to the next-gen releases near the end of the year. If you want the absolute best it might be better holding off for the 5800 and GT300 series.
