So im testing my setup before I swap cases to Fractal Define XL.

I'm getting with furmark temps with 25seconds run temps of 106C when i stopped it.

Im guessing this is not safe.

It runs idle at 60C, whats the highest it should be going to?

I had that card and it never reached 80c seeing as its got the pretty decent custom cooler. So something definitely wrong. Try reseating heatsink with some new thermal paste, may bring temps down a bit.

yep, something sadly wrong.

is the fan still working? if so then the cooler must have been unseated. get the IPA and paste and reseat it.

Well in the past year I havent touched the inside of the case so the cooler should still be correctly seated. Fan is at 100% running furmark, goes over 105C then I turn it off.

I not too concerned as my antec900 is a dusty mess inside. Ordered define xl with noctua fan, im hoping that does the trick.

Lets see tomorrow.

Heatsink clogged with dust. 80-90 degrees at no more than 60% fan speed here. Cleaned out dust about 3 or 4 months ago and dropped an easy 10 degrees but it's gradually rising back up again now.

Yep,

Dusted the hell out of it, and got my fractal xl with a noctua case fan blowing air directly to the card.

Idle temps at best were 53C mostly 60C and at about 40% fan speed the card would squeal and that would be most of the time.

After I dusted it and put it in the new case, my legs are frozen for one and second the gpu temps gone down more than 15C. Plus running furmark the gpu went to around 81C before it was over 106C.

Result!:D

Yep, giving it a clean does wonders. Yesterday I took my x2 apart for the second time as temps were rising again, now the hotter second gpu idles at about 40C with 30% fan.
