4890s xfire overkill

i bought 2 4890s xfx xt edition to install in an i7 rig lg blu ray drive 32in via hdmi 1920x1200..going to play fps cod4 5 crysis farcry2 hawx etc just wondering IS THIS OVERKILL

play crysis on ultra high everything and you will see that to get a constant 60fps you will need another gpu..well i do anyhow

Im planning on getting a 3rd around christmas time

Both my Asus`s that i got today are operating greatly at 1000core 1100memory @1.3875v, and im still not finished tweaking yet
im going to go down the voltages even more to see if im stable

They are not overkill... I was playing a game last night and in one part was only getting 30 FPS :/

it only works on certin crossfireX mobos onces with 3 PCE slots, its more of a brag factor tbh but lucky enough HD4890 are very cheap

The sweet spot between cost/performance is Tri-fire, this was shown in a huge review using 4870s and will/is be the same for the 4890s.

and you really need core I7 clocked over 3.0Ghz for best effects
