48970.70 Xfire Issues

Hi all,

Having a few problems, and also very confused about crossfire.

Some googling shows people saying "Install the 11.8 drivers"...but i go to AMD's website and the newest version is 11.12? :S

Also, I don't ahve CCC anymore, i got some crappy "vision engine" thing?

Also, when I got on the options in this 'vision engine' There's no application profiles section, even though I installed the lastest CAP?

Wtf is going on?


Also, getting bluescreens in BF3. After 3 seconds it just bluescreens, says the AMD driver is the error.

Really confused :S

Also, title should be 4890/70 Xfire issues.

Hmm...GTA IV, L4D2, and WiC work fine :S

From what I can see Vision Engine is the same as the CCC.

Have you enabled the advanced view in preferences?

You don't see individual CrossFire profiles though I understand this is coming with the 12.1 drivers.

Were you getting BSODs before you changed anything?

I'd uninstall any AMD drivers from the control panel (be careful with chipset and especially careful not to uninstall the AMD USB filter driver, you'll facepalm hard) and install the latest release drivers and CAP

GTA does not support CF iirc, so you won't see much of a gain or any

Also, BF3 is buggy as **** for a lot of people. Some say onboard audio (Realtek) is the main cause

Well, I've re-installed drivers. did the filter driver too (by accident) but luckily everything seems ok

Perhaps onboard is the issue....am still running from the drivers windows gave me for that Perhaps i'll try updating them too


It does seem to be only BF3 though.....Fifa 12, APB reloaded and RIFT all run great

Sorry for the necromancy, but found the solution in case anyone is interested.

Battlefield 3 will NOT RUN if you attempt to use the Teamspeak 3 overlay. This was my issue, I enabled it by accident
