Hello there, ive just replaced my i7 3820 with the 4930k. Upon loading the comp i noticed the temps seem to be extremely low. Ive tried several different temp monitor programs such as HWmonitor, coretemp and real temp. All 3 of them seem to be showing trhe same temps which are as follow:

Any idea what could be up with it?

If you have a look in Coretemp the CPU has stepped to 1.9Ghz at a lower voltage because the system is idle. This will be why its running cooler.

Guessing it could be, my old cpu had its voltage fixed so it was idling in the 30s. But then again vie seen 1 core go down to 12c which i cant see being possible.

What cooling are you on? With these cooler ambient temperatures we've had recently I'd seen as low as 24/25C at idle on my 4930K with H100. That was without any overclock, voltage drops to around 0.9vcore when it's not doing anything. At my std overclock of 4.4Ghz/1.2vcore hotest core was idleling at 30/31C

Intel core temperature sensors are not calibrated or intended to be used for accurate idle temperatures. These sensors are only calibrated to control thermal throttling and thermal shut down which is typically at 100C to 125C. Reporting too low when the CPU is idle is normal. There is so much error in these sensors when the CPU is idle that you can not use this data to compare two different CPUs.
