4980 voltage tweak

bought this:

looked at the reviews for it they can get it to over 1000core on 1.45v...

but my asus software doesnt lemme go higher then 1.4v??

id like the raise the volts to 1.45v, any help wud be brill!

Shouldn't you be overclocking in the BIOS, not in their software?

Use MSI afterburner to get that extra voltage.

mine goes to 1.4 and no more!

msi afterburner the voltage slider is grey'd out not useable!

I have the same card Matty, it'll do 1000MHz at 1.4 (at least mine will) but the actual performance difference between 950 and 1000 is not a lot and 950 requires less voltage. On that card the slider does only go up to 1.4v, the 1.45v is used on the TOP version of the card which are few and far between.

MSI Afterburner doesn't work because the Asus does not use the Voltera VRM that pretty much all other 4890 cards use, hence RivaTuner wont work either (I know that the MSI software is based on RT), nor ATI Tray Tools, GPU Tool, AMD GPU Clock, or Voltage Factory. Only way I have found so far of upping the voltage is by using the Asus software. Version 5.49 is available but I haven't noticed any difference with it.

Still, good card, good warranty.
