4g broadband setup?

Hi,
I currently have a fibre to copper broadband set up. The internet speed tests are 22.50mbps download speed, 4.09mbps upload speed and 9ms ping. This is not ideal and I was hoping I could improve on it which is when I thought of getting 4g broadband set up. The 4g speed test from mobile are 20-55mbps download speed, 7 - 15mbps upload speed, 7 - 50ms ping.

The better end results on the 4g tests would be ideal to switch to, and I am wondering whether if I had the right equipment such as a 4g router / 4g dongle + router and antenna if I would be able to acquire the better results?

I also don't know what's good equipment to get for this set up? and whether it should be 5g instead of 4g to prepare for the eventual upgrade to this rural area (no info to when upgrade to 5g will happen out there)?

Another question I had is if there is some kind of smart router in which I would be able to get the best of both worlds with the fast ping of the wired broadband with the higher download speeds of the 4g?

Any input you could give me would be very much appreaciated as my networking knowledge is very limited. Thank you for reading this far.

Tp-link do a 4g dongle with a lan port. If you plug that into your router it would do what you want. It's not too expensive so you could test with a payg Sim and see if it's an improvement.

I've tried it when we were renting temporarily - it's wasn't too bad but copper dsl was more reliable.

I wouldn't bother with 5g. Odds of seeing it outside a big city in the next co ole if years are slim

I use an EE sim with a Huawei 4g box that has Ethernet connection too. For some reason I can only get 8-10 mbps on a line but with the 4g I get (hang on will just run a test...) 41 today with 17 up. It's usually higher than this but it is Saturday. I pay £25 per month with unlimited download which is cheapest i've found.

Who's operating on that mast? If it's three then they do a router/ unlimited sim package that is good value.

(Edit) there's lots of these type of threads in the networking sub forum, may get more replies if it's moved there.
