4G Broadband + VoWIFI calling question

Hey

So I need to renew my SIM in my router, and I was looking around at deals to see if my current provider can match any. But before I call I started thinking about voWIFI (WIFI calling) and I'm now confused.

So only certain networks support certain handsets. Now if my phone is with one provider but my router (which provides the WiFi) were to move to another provider, which has to be the compliant one? Is it still the SIM in the handset?

Currently I'm with EE for both my handset and router. But I'm worried if I change my router SIM, that voWIFI may stop working.

Anyone in the know able to clarify which it would be please?

Should be fine. My handset is with EE and wifi calling works fine when connected to my Vodafone 4G mobile broadband.
