Ok so I made the move to a new phone contract the other day and got a taste of just how good 4g is. Now obviously it doesnt compete with virgin 152mbit connections but where I live atm we are on adsl a long way from any exchange and get 3-5mbit on a good day. Seeing the difference between that and getting 60mbit on my mobile phone made me laugh!

So when do people thing 4g will replace mainstream cabled broadband?
Obviously they will need to remove the data caps and expand networks but this is definitely where things will be going!

I'm the same in the way I was amazed - I moved house recently and haven't got broadband yet as I'm on vodafone's data test drive - 3 months of unlimited 4g therefore using my phone as a hotspot.

4g won't replace cabled broadband anytime soon...although wireless will eventually overtake cables no doubt about that

Already has in some cases! Wireless ac is very nice. I set up my phone with vodafone. Just checked and I have test drive too! Hell yeah! I will be using the phone for everything now lol

Yeah it's certainly worth it. Just ignore the texts they send you to warn about fair usage etc! I am on a 4gb plan and used 93gb last month measured through my phones data usage chart. Lol. I figure if it's unlimited then it's going to be used..

I cant get even a GSM (2G) signal at my house, i am not sure that 4G will be replacing my slow ADSL any time soon :(
