Hi people,

Last year after getting through various tablets from hp, dell, samsung etc i finally settled on the dell venue 8 pro with 3g broadband.

Fitted the bill and worked lovely, Until it broke................anyhow dell couldnt fix it or replace it so sent me a Dell Venue 10 Pro 5055 with a years warranty.

Lovely tablet, nice and fast and lovely screen. How ever it has no built in broadband....Its also far to large to use and keep in my bag everyday so would there fore be unused..........

im hoping to get £200 for it on the bay.

I really do need the built in broad band as its used quite often and on public transport as well. My phone cant take tethering for the amount i use it for. The battery would end up knackered...

Ive searched the bay and seen a few 4g ones probably from china and also the asus Asus ZenPad 8.0 (Z380KL) which looks very nice.

Also the new kindle...................I was also offered a 4g tablet in the EE shop for £13 a month with 2gb of data............not sure what it was though i forget.

Huawei MediaPad M1 S8-301L 8.0" 5MP 8GB Wifi + 4G looks to be the cheaper option:) for £90

I also looked at the Nvidia shield but dont much about it

TECA LTE-830 .....<<<<<<<<<<<looks very good for money but have no idea.

so basically i need some hints as to what i should go for

Not essential but would be handy if you could also use the mobile broadband for text or calls for emergencys.

from the picture it looks like there needs to be a mini pci slot soldered onto the board where the black rectangle hole is. so i would say you cant simply put one in.

I guess you still need to be careful with what band the 4G ones are.

Would a better option be to use a wireless 4g access point with a tablet?

Looks like you can send SMS's on that via a web portal (maybe an app also).

4G Tablet wise. One recommended by 3g.co.uk is the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (came 2nd to the ipad mini 3).

lol still not managed to find one at a reasonable price! still £200 ish for the above tablet
