4GB 1000hz or 8GB 666hz?

I have been sent the new OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8000C5 1000MHz ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 and I currently have 8gb in my Vista 64-bit system but its slower memory - will I benefit from using just the OCZ 4gb pack or am I better off just sticking with my current 8GB

Use the faster RAM, 2 Gb DDR3 is faster than 4 Gb DDR2, just so long as you get the decent DDR3.

he hasnt got DDR3

i think it will be only faster in benchmarks. buy if you think you will ever use more then 4 gig keep the 8gig. either way it should not make much real difference

Is 8Gb needed???

I'd personally go for 4Gb of the faster RAM, just as long as you plan to run at that speed. (i.e. up your FSB and drop your multi).
