Hi I presently run 2 sets of matching sticks of OCZ 2GB PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 (4gb total) and an Intel Core 2 DUO E6700, I have a few niggle issues running 4 sticks and also would like to change the possessor when prices drop a little, in the mean time I would like to go to2 sticks of 2gb = 4gb so can some kind soul recommend what I should consider, should I stick with the same speed PC2-6400 e.g. Crucial Ballistix Tracer RED 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 or go to say OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-9200C5 1150MHz, I don’t over clock and don’t confess to understand the timings too much.

If you don't overclock then there's no real need to go higher than PC2-6400.

But avoid the Ballistix. It dies a lot more than other memory.

Something like the OCZ would be grand.

Iv got the non sli version of this ram on my P35 board and iv been so impressed with it today (with my uber unscientific overclock). Basically on my system, before i overclocked it, it was flawless. This evening i gave overclokcing a go (didnt notice the ram was set to be steped up from the fsb/cpu so i was at a 5:6 ratio) and it went to 960mhz :)
Big thumbs up for OCZ ram

Hi pingwing that’s nice and reassuring thanks for taking the trouble to post, I'm from the old school 2 sticks better then 4 but it may not be true nowadays but it’s hard to shake old habits.
