Hi,
I need some advice before deciding to buy the 4GB G.Skill PC2-8000 or the 4GB OCZ ReaperX PC2-8000. It's hard to decide which one to buy or not to buy any of these two DDR2.
The price is the major factor for me to upgrade to one of those ram since you could get DDR2 PC2-8000 for the price of DDR2 PC2-6400!! Well i'm not looking forward to overclock it but would appreciate some advice about its overclockability, performance, stabilty, etc from anyone who have had thier hands on these memory especially the OCZ ReaperX. Found a couple of review about the G.Skill but couldn't find any for the ReaperX yet since its still a new memory.
I almost bought the G.Skill late last month but after reading some mixed review about the G.Skill, I decided to wait and have a look at the ReaperX before buying the better memory. So, which one is better in terms of stability, reliability, temperature, overclockability, performance, compatibilty, quality, etc?
Besides the price, another factor that lure me to get these memory is because I wanted to upgrade to 8GB system since I'm doing some video editing and photoshop. Will 4 x 2GB OCZ ReaperX fit into my Asus P5W DH Deluxe? It should fit, right? Just curious because the new heatsink design on the memory looks quite huge!
Or should I just not buy any of them and go with DDR3? Is it really worth to upgrade to DDR3 right now? How long the DDR2 could hold on before DDR3 market get stable in terms of price, useablity, or maybe when DDR2 are well forgotten by the computing world, etc??
Kind Regards,
Aidil
