I got another set of this 2x1gb set of ram today. Anyway i put in both sticks in the empty slots and my pc failed to boot to the bios screen. However when i took out a stick it did work with 3gb and booted to the vista login screen fine.

I've heard of people having problems with this ram and motherboard combo, and i think i remember seeing a way of getting around it but i just can't for the life of me remember. I'm a complete nub at this so any help would be appreciated :).

I have the same motherboard and RAM and mine booted fine, although I've noticed I keep getting BSOD's fairly common now when loading Vista.

With 4 sticks of the Geil ULL i had to set it to run @ 667Mhz in BIOS to get it working correctly. It just wouldnt run all 4 at 800

There's a microsoft hotfix for that, I don't have it's kb number to hand as I'm at work, I'll try to post a link to it later when I get home.

To OP, I have a P5N32-E Sli Plus (the hybrid 650/570 chipset version) and had to update bios to the latest version to get it boot with 4 sticks in. (I then had to install Vista x64 with 2GB ram and install the hotfix I'll post a link to later before inserting the other 2GB)

Found the Hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777
