4GB in white 20" iMac

I know you only get 3.3GB usable, but is there any increase in performance compared to running unmatched pairs? IE 1 x 1GB and 1 x 2GB

4GB is only £36 or something silly so if i went with one 2GB dimm to match my 1GB i wouldn't be saving enough money worth bothering over.. Just interested in the performance

Matched pairs are always going to benefit because of the dual channel implementation.

As for memory.. the more the merrier in OS X. Go for it

I upgraded my 2008 24" iMac (aluminum) from 2GB to 4GB, it helps but i can honestly say i still get a lot of the old beachball's spinning maybe not as many times if i still had 2GB.
So i'd say go for the max
