4gb memory not showing

hi guys, just a question about my new pc. it has 4gb of memory but its only showing up as 3.25gb when i goto control panel/system in xp.
i initially had installed vista and it showed 4gb in that.

is this right

32 bit XP can only see 3.25GB max, less if you have a lot of VRAM.

Pretty much yep.

It's a limitation of 32-bit Windows.

hi guys, yes i did get it running, i was expecting the couriers this afternoon, but needed to know what to put on the box so phoned tech services. they said they had a pc over the weekend with same problem and found it to be hsf. easy to remove, gently proze off cpu too and refit. very easy trust me. worked straight away. oh and VERY quiet

tried that but didnt fix mine, courier was suppose to turn up tonight but hasnt showed :mad:
