4Gb or 8GB?

Quick question really, will 8GB of RAM be noticeably different over 4GB?

I do a lot of Photoshop work, but I don't think I've ever seen it push past 1.5GB usage, I know 2GB can cause my PC to start thrashing the Hard Drive.....so would 4GB be enough, and I'll just buy another 500GB HDD with the spare cash, or should I just whack 8GB in?

Its for Gaming too.

Edit: Currently using Vista Home Premium x64, so the OS is happy up to 16GB and i know my motherboard will address up to 128GB, should I ever be able to find 4 x 32GB sticks....

Photoshop is a 32bit App at present and will only address 2Gb. However you have Vista x64, RAM is cheap and best of all the next version of Photoshop will come in a x64 edition that will be able to support as much RAM as you have.

On that basis I would upgrade when the new Photoshop becomes available
