Hey everyone, I've put 4Gb of Geil DDR2 6400 in my new machine which is used for photo/video editing, gaming and some 3D rendering for courses.

I've put the 4Gb in an Asus P5B Deluxe mobo, but in DOS it only shows as 3GB. How can I get it to show as 4GB? I havent installed Windows on the new build yet, but will Vista show it as 4GB or 3GB?

I would very much appreciate your help in resolving this problem

When you say in DOS do you mean the BIOS? I think in the P5B there should be "memory remap" option in *** bios, enable that. As for windows you will need to be running a 64bit OS in order for it to see and address the full 4gb of ram.

sorry tried to get that done as quick as possible, but yes i meant BIOS.
Where abouts would i find a memory remap option?

So does only 64bit OS's pick up 4GB?
