Hi,
I already have 2GB of OCZ ram installed in my system, now I see that it's on special this week for only £37.59 inc VAT, so I decided to upgrade (placed order last night) mainly for use with VMWare:

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-072-OC

However I've started thinking that maybe I should have gone for one of the 4GB kits that are also on offer and selling my current 2GB:

OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-5400C5 for £64.61 inc VAT

I realise that this memory is lower spec, however I'm a little concerned that having 4 Dimms will not be as effectient as 2, and will probably consume allot more power ?

Please tell put my mind at rest and tell me to stick with my order, or should I cancel quickly and get the 4 GB kit instead?

Many thanks!

4 dimms will be VERY slightly faster (if the ram in question is the same speed!!!), but 2 dimms will be more stable.

2GB dimms don't overclock as much as 1GB dimms, but the difference if offset by having more modules.

i went for 4x 1GB dimms though (same as the first set you mentioned)

The PC2-6400 will be much faster than the PC2-5400!
dimms don't use much power really, and the difference between 2 and 4 on your systems overall power usage will be insignificant.
