4GB vs 2GB

I have recently built a 6400 + DS3 system and fitted 2GB of the Geil 800MHz memory which works just great and have got 3.2GHz with all voltages at stock which is good enough and more than I expected.

I'm thinking of getting another 2GB but have heard stories that I might not be able to run quite as fast with 4 x 1GB as opposed to 2 x 1GB. (I know about needing 64bit OS and software to use this fully)

The memory is running at rated speed so does anyone think I will have a problem ?

Thanks

I only use 2 x 1 Gig for my Duo system, but a friend who has a 6400 cpu, DS3 board, and 4 x 1 Gig sticks of the geil 6400 appears to have little or no problems so far. He has a 80mm fan blowing over the ram slot area for peace of mind, and windows only sees 3.5 gig of it (XP 32 bit), but he is fine running @3.2 gig. Performance wise i can see little or no difference to 2 gig thus far, but if you feel you need 4 gig, then i know 4 x 1 gig sticks of geil in a DS3 board on F4 bois works fine. Only issue he had was ram volts (2.1v) as 2.2v failed horribly.

Yep I can second that.

My friend also went with the DS3 and 4gigs of Geil 6400, he can clock as high as my DS4 with 2gigs.
Everything is running stock voltage, both running 2.8ghz (havent bothered to try higher yet as we also want low voltage)
Managed to reduce the voltage to
CPU -1.2v
RAM -2v

cheers
