4GB WinXP

Just a quick one... how does dual channel work under XP if it only picks up 3.25GB?

Not really sure on the technical aspect, but i think that XP knows there is 4GB but can only use 3.25GB due to the 32bit architecture (spelling). Basically if it is 2x2GB sticks it will still be dual channel, if its 1x4GB then its not. Probably makes little sense here but its hard to explain what im thinking

LOL! Yeah I see what your saying dude. I'm using 4x1GB though, so I guess it's not working in dual channel.

With 4x1GB your still working in dual channel as well. If you check softwares like SiSoftware Sandra, it will be able to tell you if your running in dual channel or not.
