4gb with xp 32

i have two os vista 64 and xp 32, i have 4x1gb ram that i want to use and i know that xp only notices 3gb of ram,if i do use 4gb what effects would that have on xp could it cause crashes and bsod or any other troubles.

i am running 4 gig on my xp system with no problem.. well my cd dirve is playing up but dont think that is a ram problem..

XP (or Vista for that matter) 32 bit will recognise a total of 4gb SYSTEM ram, so take off about 100mb for various motherboard chips and whatever your graphics card has on it, so a rig with a 512mb card will recognise about 3.35 mb of ram.

I am running with 4GB in an XP Pro 32 bit machine, no problems

you wont notice a different with day to day windows use and surfing but gaming is a lot smoother.

you wont notice anything mate, it just wont reconise the full amount, so no crashes etc
