With the silly prices of 2gb memory sticks at the moment, i am tempted to get some more Crucial memory to match the 2gb i got when i built my PC a year or so ago.

Would there be any point with this as XP can only see 3gb?

Eventually i will be looking to install Vista, but not for atleast another 10 - 12 months.

the Search is your friend.

32bit windows (XP or vista) can only support a maximum of just short of 4GB of ram, this includes, everything with memory, eg GFX cards.

64bit (XP and VISTA) can support more than 4GB of ram, just upgrading to vista doesn't mean you will use 4GB, you need a 64bit OS

you will see a improvement as you are going form 2-3GB
