4GHz overclock

I am new to overclocking but want to OC my CPU to 4GHz. It is an Intel i7 950 @ stock settings. What do i do step-by-step?
i7 950
Asus P6X58D-E M/board
Gigabyte 460 1GB G/card
Coolit ECO ALC cooler
6GB Corsair RAM
650W Corsair PSU

1/ Read FAQ at the top of this section
2/ Read at least two guides on overclocking the i7 chips found through google
3/ Post on a forum to confirm that you've got the right general idea and to clarify things you're not sure about
4/ Profit.

Used this on my own 920 and p6t deluxe v2 combo, bios on the p6x58 is virtually identical.

have a google for Overclocking + your specific board, there is a site that go quite indepth but i cant post the link here as they also sell hardware.

This will make you laugh, but I know* how to overclock core 2 quads, but I had a little look at my old P4.... and it scared the pants of me! :eek:

Bit like myself, only started overclocking on core2 duos/quads, still a bit of a raw recruit tbh.

They helped me a bit
