Hi all, I have contacted customer service but don't expect to hear anything untill next week.

I have recently bought this:

OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Max / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58
Motherboard / Corsair 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-003-OB

I have installed it and had days of trouble free use.

However, the other morning I came into I machine and it appeared to have been restarted by a windows update and crashed.

Since then the colck speed appears to be non overclocked.

Please see my communication to Overclockers below for details, I would be grateful for any assistance on this from other purchasers of this product.

Hi, something appears to have gone amis with my overclock.

When I originally installed the bundle it was giving me on windows index:

CPU = 7.7
RAM = 7.8
Graphics = 7.8
Hard Disc = 5.9

Now it has dropped to:

CPU = 7.4
RAM = 7.6
GRAPHICS = 7.7
HARD DISC = 5.7

I have had a look in the BIOS and see the following:

CPU Clock Ratio = 20x
CPU Frequency = 3.8Ghz
QPI Link Speed = 6.84Ghz
BCLK Frequency = 190Mhz
Memory Frequency = 1066 1520Mhz
Profile DDR Voltage = 1.5v
Profile QPU V = 1.175v

Is this still overclocked or has it reset?

I downloaded a CPU speed measuring utility and it said the CPU speed was 2.8Ghz.

What I need to know is the following:

1) Is the system still overclocked to 4Ghz?
2) If not could you send me the settings so I can re-overclock it?
3) How do I save the overclocked settings to USB?

Many Thanks

Martyn

Get into the BIOS, hit f12 and load the OcUk profile and all should be fine again buddy!

Dont suppose you could send me that profile i deleted mine by accident?

You should use the customer support section of the forum, and ask one of the tech's to provide you with the BIOS profile.

There is a chance that someone else's profile willnot work on your system, even though they are both using identical hardware, each chip has different requirements, as I am sure you probably already know?

I would STRONGLY suggest you don't use someone else's overclock profile. There is a VERY high likelihood that you could damage your RAM or CPU if you run an apparently working overclock that over-volts something it shouldn't.

RJKONeill is the man to contact - he usually comes back very, very, quickly so I would wait personally.

On another matter that is related I think.
My machine wont shut down.

If I hold the power button for 4 seconds it does.
If I ask it to shut down from windows it doesn't, it shuts down then restarts by itself.

I think it may be how I have connected my pwr and rst cables to the motherboard but no matter which way I do it it still happens.

I have connected them as indicated by the M/B manual. However, not sure which is + and -?

I have treated the black and white on the "pwr" button as ground & live
and the purple and white on the "reset", ground and live also.

I did have the reset the other way around but the fault was still there.

Is there something else that could be causing this?

Thanks Guys for any help on this issue.
