Hello

I have been looking around for a 4k monitor, thats at least 100hz with Gsync but I am having trouble finding any...

do they not exist? or am I looking in the wrong place?

If they are available please can somebody point me in the right direction

Thank you

oh.. I am planning on getting 2xGeforce 1080's in SLI...

if I get a 60hz 4k Monitor will I feel the pain of it not going beyond 60hz?

I've just got a 144hz monitor (1080p) what you will miss is the super smooth movement that you get from higher Hz monitors.

If it's really what you want I would possibly wait however I doubt they will be cheap when released ,have you thought about going 1440p 144hz?

4k 120/144Hz wont be for a while and I can imagine the first panels having issues. I personally love a 144Hz display and could never go back to 60Hz and to me it makes a bigger difference than resolution. 1440p/144Hz is a good balance and is the better choice for games.

And yes you can plug a Xbox into any monitor with a HDMI port.

Question is, WHY do you want 4K? Have you seen it in action and are totally blown away? Or you just perceive it to be the best, therefore you must have it? The problem is, as already mentioned, the 60Hz limitation is far from ideal.

The Acer X34A you have mentioned would be a better choice... far easier to drive than 4K with superior immersion. You'd have to get a 40"+ 4K 100Hz+ monitor with G-Sync to match it on that front, which doesn't exist.

You will need those GPU's i do try to run 4K/120 when i can but even Rocket League is out of the question on a 980. A single 1080 would just about nail that 120fps i reckon and i know L4D2 would be around 140-150. Now think about that and how old these games are while they are maxed and look jaw dropping there is no question of new games.

I bet you would struggle with dual 1080 cards to maintain 100fps in Ark at 4K/100hz, I would love to know because i really do like to run everything with that kind of DSR. But it is demanding!

You can trim the post processing and have a go though what i find is with a 980 i would nearly run BF4 at 4K/120 but i would only get 90fps so judder time. But this is with everything off, Textures and AF both maxed out those are really the only three settings you use.

3840x2160 16xAF Textures Ultra is all one needs for 4K gaming 1080 SLI will make a fair go of new titles with the above settings. I think for example Mordor is the kind of visual level i will target for my 1080 when i buy one.
