I currently own a LG 32LB580V, which to be frank was a bargain at £200 with a 5 year warranty. Its a lovely TV, only slightly let down by the speakers.

Netflix is showing series in 4K now and I'd quite like to get a 4K TV. Unfortunately I sit about 6-7 foot from my TV so anything above 40 would probably hurt my eyes.

Is there any decent 40 inch 4K TV's that are worth getting at the moment?

Another question.

If I don't get a new TV I would quite like a solution to get better sound out of it.

What are my options? maybe a 2.1 setup. No real room for 5.1 - 7.1.

Thanks.

(I should have pointed out. Sound and Hifi and TV's are not my forte haha)

Nope in my opinion. This is why.

(Your setup would be borderline according to the graph). I'd rather spend my money on a top notch 1080p telly. However the way the market is heading (8K tellies due around 2018) 4K will be standard at that size & possibly down to 32" as well. You'd have to have your nose against the screen to notice the difference.

2.1 ? something like this, but check the audio outputs on any prospective telly purchase first before buying.

That is a great link and article regarding 4K but really good high end TV panels that have good viewing angles, good contrast and great colours tend to cost £400-500+ anyhow you may find the price is not too much different to get a 40" or above with the added 4K already in place.

Its probably still the better idea to check the tv panels in person imo so get down to currys or JL store, my personal opinions are Samsungs, check the UE32J6300 32inch model @ £400+ or the 40inch Samsung UE40JU6400 which has 4K also, forgetting about 4K or tech features the screens have great viewing angles, colours and contrast its certainly noticeable when looking at the other screens from the likes or LG or Panasonic to me at least.

Yup it is very good spent an hour in currys checking viewing angles, blacks and colours on all the 32 and 40" TVs that one looked the best in my eyes, the 6300 best for 32inch (curved model) and 6400 (flat panel but 4K).

Skipping the techno and 4K stuff it still looked the best the ju6400, yeah richer sounds do it cheaper, tbh you could get it a refurb JU6400 on ebay for £419 even but sadly richer don't do online orders its collection in store only although last month you could order online! I like JL since they got an easier return process (free on repairs and returns) and if you don't like it full money back option.... JL got a 50 quid trade in old tv offer which can be any size crt tv but must be working.

decisions and more decisions....
