Hi all,

I've had one of the old FireTV boxes for ages and decided to upgrade to a 4k Firestick. The stick is plugged into my Yamaha YSP-2700 soundbar, which then feeds video to my LG B7V TV via HDMI. The problem is no matter what settings I use on the TV or soundbar for lip sync (on / off), I still get a delay on the video out of the Firestick. No other device has this lag and the old FireTV didn't have this issue.

One solution I've found online is to switch the FireStick to stereo, but then what is the point of me owning a decent soundbar? At this rate, the firestick will be going back and I'll either use the old one or switch to on demand via the TV.

Try and use custom millisecond delay and try and get it to match? Start at 100ms

Using what? The soundbar doesn't have a variable for delay and neither does the Firestick. This issue is pretty common by the looks of Google unfortunately. Maybe the hardware isn't up to it?

Why have you got a firestick on a B7V? (just read that again I don't mean it to come across as a Though shalt not use line lol I was just wondering)

Just use HDMI ARC to the soundbar and use the built in apps...

If you have to use the firestick pug it in to the tv then again use HDMI ARC back to the soundbar this will cure the lip sync.

Not really sure tbh... Always thought dedicated boxes were smoother than built in services and Fire tends to support all except for NowTV. I even have Chromecast! I suppose I've used Prime Video historically too.

Oddly I had this exact issue and had to configure a 90ms audio delay on my receiver.

Then it just fixed itself all of a sudden a few months ago and has been fine ever since. No idea what changed.
