Any 32" 4k G-sync IPS monitors yet? Using 28" at the moment but want to go a little bigger. Cant see any listed at the moment, are there any on the horizon?

Any new Samsung or LG ones are likely to conform to the VESA adaptive synch standard (and thus Freesynch) ... market's probably way too small for NVIDIA / manufacturers to bother with G-Synch.

First of all don't know why you're adding a h to the end of the sync tech. It's freesync and gsync...

Secondly I highly doubt the market is too small for gsync when nVidia currently have a much larger discrete GPU market share. If so then I'd hate to see what the uptake is on freesync monitors.

Because that's how it's usually spelled. I don't really care about the Americanised brand names.

The market for 'freesynch' monitors is far larger, because it's not by definition a niche market. The proprietary nature, limited features and higher cost ensured by g-synch means that it is by definition a niche, within a niche within a niche. With newer scalers, making monitors compatible with the VESA adaptive synch standard incurs miniscule increase in marginal cost, and doesn't limit features or compatibility. Hence why after 3 months on the market there are already more 'freesynch' monitors than G, despite the first of the latter coming to market 18 months ago.

This is also why it's almost certain that NVIDIA will abandon the technology, but keep the brand name. We already know they have the VESA standard (i.e. freesynch) working on laptops. I'm sure they've also written drivers for desktop. The entire reason for the hardware based proprietary standard was vendor lock-in, but it isn't sustainable in the face of the open standard now being on the market.

I have to agree Ayahuasca its Freesync and G-Sync. These are the brand names. Not sure why you have invented new names for it that rhyme with pinch.

Free-sin-ch

Sounds a bit like a drunk trying to pronounce the words. Just back from the pub <hic> and going to play on my <hic> Freesynch moonitor <burp>

Xbox One is now CrossBox One. PS4 is now Postscript4 :p

That's funny, sat here looking at my monitor and in big silver letters at the top it says "G-Sync" not "G-Synch"

Maybe I should contact AOC and let them know that they spelt it wrong....... :p
