4k gaming build

If you have mounted the GPU radiaotrs in the roof where have you put the CPU one?

I'd have thought you could mount the 295s radiators in place of the cases front intake fans?

That's where the cpu rad is. The GPU rads didn't quite reach. 4k monitor is coming Monday but I've finished the system.

Expect piccies tonight!

riiight, so this is all set up but I'm having some issues. Crysis 3 hangs on the menu as does Witcher 2. Batman Arkham Origins works, but I can't help feeling it's not performing as it should...

CCC has Crossfire X enabled and I'm using 14.6 drivers, I did the OCP change for the AX1500i to get the cards working correctly.

Does anyone know if theres something else I need to do or some tests to complete...

Something is just off..

Thanks

I've RAID0 2,3 and 4 SSDs and the difference wasn't worth it at all. You are literally knocking 1-2 seconds off game load speeds, and if you get any problems...boom all your data is gone and you have to restore

Also, i personally think it's absolutely crazy using RAID0 as an O/S drive

Once the OS is loaded (which may be 16 seconds rather than 17 without RAID) you get no benefits, especially when the array fails...and it will fail at some point!

So, get a good backup in place if i were you or switch to RAID10 for performance, or hell, even RAID5 on that system would be quick

Cheers for the help guys, in the end I removed and tested each card individually and then paired them back up which solved my problem... No Idea, but 4k/60-ish fps in Crysis 3 is something to behold!

As promised, now that everything is up and running heres some quick and dirty images of my set up.

(We're moving house within a few months so I haven't put the system on a desk, but the old dining table is working a treat lol!)

Just wanted to update this thread if I may. I've had nothing but lacklustre performance from the 2x AMD R9 295X2's and yesterday switched to 2x Titan X's. The difference is astronomical.

AMD Clearly produce fantastic hardware, but they are really falling short with aftermarket care. Driver support is a joke and it feels like most games don't support crossfire so even using 1 card is a waste.

Much happier now though.

yeh crossfire drivers aren't the best atm. you would probably have hit a vram limit though depending on games with only 4GB cards where as titan X's have 12GB

2x 295 seems to be a particularly poorly supported solution - people seem to get better results with tri/quadfire using single core cards.

A lot of recent games seem to use use various flavour of windowed modes (even for fullscreen i.e. borderless) as well where crossfire still falls flat on its face.
