Both serve different purposes although I'd rather buy a 4K TV that can do the full HDR range than an overpriced 4K monitor

high refresh is better for gaming
4K is for bigger screens.

Can't see the point of 4K monitors for typical monitor size. Maybe 32" that's 137PPI

Gaming at 4K means monster GPU's.
