Hello all,

At my office, we are planning to upgrade our monitors. I would like to get some recommendations for which model to go based on the requirements that we have.

The requirements are the following:

Resolution: 4K
Screen Inch: 30-40inch
Curved: Yes
Able to fit 4 RDP windows
Price: Does not exceed the 900 British Pound

Once again thanks for your help :)

I can't find any curved 32" 4k - it's typically the ultrawide format monitors that are curved however there's one 4K that meets your criteria - also Phillips are a reputable manufacturer with good support.

My basket at overclockers uk:
Total: £611.69 (includes shipping: £11.70)

I think bulk of the 40" 4k monitors are now discontinued in favour of 43" models all of which can be had for less that £900 - they aren't curved though.

Assuming you have the four RDP windows tiled you could configure a custom RDP window resolution of either 1720 x 720 on the Samsung & HP or 1920 x 800 on the LG.
The PPI is very similar between the 1440P UW @ 106PPI and 1600P UW @ 109PPI so UI will be similar scale between both - for comparison purposes that's about the same pixel density as a 27" 2560x1440 monitor.

You could have a play about with some custom resolutions on your current setup and see if they give you enough real estate and give you an idea of if they'll be fit for purpose.

My personal opinion is that the greater resolution will be preferable as it'll give you the greatest amount of screen real estate to work with.

I would not get curved for a work environment. Curved really isn't necessary and on the contrary distorts the picture which is really bad for certain "pro" applications.

Good Points Squid and Pocah, in the case than for my requirements, any suitable monitors that would fit 4 RDP windows side by side?

I reckon you were on track with your original 4K requirement - that'll give you 4 windows that are 1920x1080 in a 2x2 configuration.

Then all you need to do is choose 32" or 43" monitor - I use a 32" 4k at home and love it - whilst I don't run remote desktop sessions at home I could imagine that 32" may well be sufficient - are you able to borrow one to test?

Here's a pic of a 32" with an image of 1920x1080 desktop tiled and a few other things to give you a sense of scale.

43" is pretty large and you'd need to consider whether it fits into your working environment.

You'll have slightly less vertical resolution on each of the windows but 800 is still pretty nice - and the 38" ultrawides are beautiful monitors.
Couple of final points to consider...
- Acer have another model that uses the same panel as the LG and should be a little cheaper.
- Alternatively Dell have a 38" which is a different panel with a 60Hz refresh instead of 75Hz on the LG/Acer but you'll get the benefit of Dells support and build quality.

I would like to check if the LG monitor 38UC99, can fit 4 RDP windows side-by-side. Also what about the software that can split windows. Basically I am interested in purchasing the following monitor to use in our office. But first would like to get a better understanding on some features like the software that comes with he monitor.
