4k monitor for excel work and counter strike?

Just wondering if anyone can give me an opinion as to what the 4k monitors are like with regards to heavy excel work, running quite a lot of financial programs, but also to play counter strike source/global offensive.

What sort of GPU would be needed for max graphics in those games (AA not that important) and to achieve 60fps.

Has anyone played these games at this resolution? Look good?

Additionally, I need to hook it up to my Dell Haswell laptop occasionally (I5 4200) which I think only has HDMI. Can I still get 4k resolution? I'm guessing it won't run at a native 60hz, but will the reduced hz mean eye strain when using it for work?

I'm quite interested to hear feedback from someone who's been using a 4k monitor as they're main display.

Would it maybe be an idea for a mod to create a 4k sticky topic for discussions about 4k monitors in general rather than tagging them onto threads about specific models?

Been using mine as my only display.

No issues as such but don't use it for any sort of work.

Only Origin doesn't scale well for me.

Games wise - it's awesome.

Using win 8.1
