4k or 1440p for 3080Ti?

Hi,

I'm currently rocking a 3080Ti and looking into a monitor upgrade later on after sending back a few I didn't get along with. Would 1440p would be more suitable given the 12GB frame buffer and terrible optimization seen in stuff like Forspoken, Jedi Survivor, etc? I have a 5800X and would probably need a full system upgrade if I purchased a 4090/7900XTX.

Thanks all! Reminds me of the 1080Ti being great for 4K games at first but as games developed it became better suited to 1440p.

The Neo G8 is currently £750 using cashback but I might wait until after CES.

How long do you intend to keep your RTX3080TI for?

If I'm being sensible another 2-3 years but I've spent time looking at 4090s and XTXs for the past year which isn't a promising sign

Expensive business chasing 4K with all the bells and whistles on.

Time for 8K!
