Hi guys

I'm looking for a 4k disc player for a LG 48 Cx. I'm not looking at anything expensive. Just something to play 4k films.

Is there any difference regarding expensive and cheaper 4k players regarding picture quality etc.

I was looking at the LG UBK80 for 129 pound.

Does anyone have any advice regarding them?

Thanks all

I suggest spending an extra £20 and getting the Panasonic DP-UB450EB.

The one you linked only has HDR, where as the Panny will do both HDR and Dolby Vision.

Sony’s UBP players are solid for the money too. The X700 being a particular standout. What hi-fi’s best player under £250 in 2020.

Another vote for the Panasonic DP-UB450EB from me. I picked up a refurb from the Panasonic Refurb store on eBay for £120. Very simple solid player. Plays all manner of files from USB drives too.

Why not go with one of the new xbox's, they fixed the black level issues in the recent firmware update, from what I've read it acts the same as any bog standard 4K player (not oppo standards ofc) Then you also have a decent media player (Kodi) and a console.

Also much more expensive and difficult to get hold of
