Could you recommend a 4k large monitor - would really want at least 38", probably bigger

Use would be gaming (not competitive FPS), movies, a little bit of photo-editing for printing photos.

Would I be best going for say the LG C2 or even G2 series and use as a monitor - will text look sharp after adjustment? and does it work fine for G-Sync/AMD adaptive sync without issue? Will be linited to 120hz at 4k res (don't think an issue at all if it is).

Am I right in thinking the only QD-OLED panels for monitors out atm are the ultrawide 3440 x 1440 34" ones, no 4k panels?

If use doesn't include much of static content and you prefer dimmer room illumination would certainly go for OLED on that size.

Brighter room illumination forcing higher brightness and static content would be bad for longevity.

Honestly, don't get 4K. Despite rumours they are still very difficult to drive. Games are coming out all the time with higher and higher graphics requirements. I bought a 4K and so far it has been one huge regret.

That's a mouthful of BS, the only reason gamers drop out of 4k is because their budget PC can't handle it.

QD-OLED TVs have higher efficiency in terms of brightness, they are less susceptible to pixel burning.
