Finally upgraded by TV from my faithful Pioneer Kuro (yes I'm old) to try the wonders of 4k gaming. However I have spent a small fortune to upgrade the PC, new centre speaker and buy an LG Oled. 4k AV receiver is therefore off the cards for a bit.
SPDIF out was fine for desktop but is only 2 channels. Still get decent sound but want the 5 or 7.1 back if I can. Am thinking of running a second HDMI from GPU to AV-R and the 2.1 output is direct to TV.
Will test in morning as family asleep, expect a performance hit doing this if it works, anyone got a better work around? Just using MB sound out, no dedicated soundcard. Not against getting one, but still researching that.
