Has anyone used on a regular basis a 40" tv on a desk for gaming / windows use? Obviously I know 4k takes a lot of grunt but when i see the UE43KS7500 available for £750.. It seems worth to go for that since I can use it for my consoles / blurays over say the 27" freesync 1440p monitors.

Has anyone got any real world experience on these things?

I've seen plenty of people who've done it. On the surface, it seems a good way to go, but you need to factor in the 60Hz limitation and lack of any adaptive sync technology, which at 4K I'd say was quite important. The only way you'll know if it's acceptable for you is if you try it.

I've just sold the exact model you listed, a great tv no doubt and i used it as a monitor for about 3 months solid.

I've gone back to a 32" 4k with G-Sync (acer)

I was sat about 80cm from screen it was real nice very clear and crisp and i used it with a ps4 pro and a PC.

The HDR was nice on the ps4 but not the end of the world - awesome like so many say imo.

I just found it just a bit too big as a "monitor" and really missed the G-Sync after i had an X34 before that.

I have a 55" ks8000 for my main TV so i use the ps4 on that now.

tough decision for you, I'm still evaluating the acer and with DP1.4 on the way....

the image in PC game looks better on the 32" ips much crisper although the blacks are not quite as good as the samsung TV which i believe is a VA panel.

Do note that so called 4K TV's tend not to be full 4K only UHD, not quite so many pixels.
Andi.

So are nearly All the monitors as well?

A quick check of the 4k on section on OCUK and every one is also 3840x2160 (UHD) bar one which is actually a 5k one.

just saying.

My friend does this, he build a sleeper than normal d so so he sits a little further back than normal, they way he talks about his new setup I can't see him changing it any time soon, he loves it

Well - I guess it can't hurt to order the TV as I need one anyway and 42" fits my living room fine if it doesn't work out as a monitor! I would love to get gsync etc but seems painful to spend 600+ pounds twice haha
