4K ultrawide monitors

What’s the deal with this, are there already monitors out there or is the aspect ratio not suitable for 4K?

If they wanted to raise the definition of 3440X1440P UW. Would it have to be 5K or the like?

To have an ultra wide with a vertical resolution of 2160 would result in a heck of a lot of pixels to drive.
Considering one of the main uses for UW is gaming even the top gpu’s out there would struggle to run at a decent frame rate.

As mentioned, if using the vertical resolution from 4k then it would be 5040x2160. That's 31% more pixels than UHD 3840x2160.

3440x1440 is just fine it's the sweet spot for me, going full 4k on an ultrawide would give most gfx cards a nose bleed especially if they had a high refresh rate

The Dell U4021QW is a 40“ ultrawide with 5120 x 2160 resolution. It's more of a productivity monitor than gaming though.

And LG 34WK95U 34", so they are out there.
