Morning all am looking to move up from 1080 to 4k and have been looking at some comparisons and I see the main diff between the two is sharpness is that true, also looking for an Acer 28 inch can anyone give me any advice on those models.thanks

What's your budget and what GPU are you running? Have you ruled out 21:9 (3440x1440)? It's far, far easier to run (even a 1080Ti won't be maxing out every AAA game in 4K, especially going forwards), and the noticeable improvement from ultrawide to 4K is not as noticeable as it will be from 1080p to ultrawide. Yes 4K is sharper, but you're giving up a A LOT of frames. 21:9 provides greater immersion and higher frame rates, not to mention higher refresh (up to 100Hz G-Sync with the X34 and PG348Q) as every 4K monitor is currently limited to 60Hz. Depending on your budget, you could even hold out for THIS. If you have not sat in front of a 21:9 screen I would highly encourage you to do so... most people who do soon realise its benefits, so don't rule it out before doing so.
thanks legend do you have a couple of links apart from the one you sent me

thanks for all the replies I spent yesterday looking at the ultra wide screen monitors and have to say they are very immpressive, you could get lost in those screens

thanks everyone for their help I have more or less decided to go for the AOC agon ag352ucg,my only concern is my fav games are skyrim and fallout 4 my research tells me the AOC will need extra tweaking to get those games to work is this true.

You should be fine with those. The only game that is an issue is Overwatch, as the devs have refused to support 21:9 due to the supposed unfair advantage... naturally they are also trying to ban gaming mice, gaming chairs, mechanical keyboards and fast refresh monitors to truly level the playing field. ;)
just out of interest why is 21.9 supposed unfair advantage

thanks for the reply so just to sum up here the AOC agon ag352ucg will run fine with the GTX1070 and almost all games run ok on it.sorry for double checking but £700 plus is a lot of money lol
