4od Problems - Blank screen but with sound

anybody had this problem ?

4od just doesnt seem to want to play with me. Its got DRM problems because its capable of showing 1 or 2 adverts (theres one for the LG phone that works and one other) and i get the holding image while it loads

but nothing shows while im watching. When 4od loaded up, it said i needed a DRM upgrade which i downloaded and installed. But its obviously not worked.

I can hear sound, but just get a blank screen. theres a big thread on the 4od forums about it, but channel 4 support appears atrocious. no prescence on the boards and my e-mail has gone unanswered.

dont suppose anybodys had the same problem ?

forgot to mention. i know its a DRM problem, because flash player works fine for ITV.com / BBC iplayer / Youtube etc..

one thing i did read somewhere though, is that 4od insists on using its own flash version (9d). I have 9e installed, and sure enough i get an error during install that it cant install flash 9d.

so it might be a flash problem, but it seems strange that some of the adverts work, so surely if it was a flash version compatibility nothing would show ?

4od uses windows media player. do you have the latest version installed?

im using media player 11 and vista on brand new Dell Inspiron laptop

ive downloaded the DRM update they prompted me to, and downloaded some other security component that got mentioned on the net

and you know what ? its got wierder. I can watch downloaded programmes, just not streamed ones

i guess only the 4od people will know what the difference between downloaded and streamed content is.
