Saw the advert for it yesterday about watching your programs upto a week after theyve aired. Should be very popular.

well the user interface is slow, and its like only holyoaks and time team that is free lol, things such as the it crowd which are on it cost 99p per viewing

I, too, was drawn in by the recent offer of free access to programming aired in the past week...

And what an utter waste of time it is. The interface is abysmal, the only programmes being offered for free aren't worth watching, and to top it off the downloads are probably low quality and chock-full of DRM.

Channel 4 are missing a big trick on this one...

I said 'Should', but obviousley its not :p

i'm in belgium and it tested my connection and allowed me to download and install the app but when I went to watch something it says sorry you aren't in the UK.

Hmm I thought the treaty of rome provided the free movement of goods and services?

Seems like TV is exempt from this treaty and I have to watch dubbed versions on french tv instead?

Installed it right when it first came out.

I think I had it for an hour before I headed over to control panel and got rid of it.

lol they even knew it was bad themselves, hence why they didnt include an un install feature :p

Two words, broadcast rights.

Channel 4 is a U.K. service, their rights to broadcast things (in any form) will almost certainly as standard include a clause that they cannot knowingly broadcast outside the area (doing so could reduce the amount companies in other countries would pay).

its basicly a slow .net framework window for MSIE6. and it uses twice the CPU power for the privelidge.

Interesting how they chose to make it Windows and IE specific. Nowadays that's not such a great move to make. A large percentage of their target audience will be using Mac's for a start, and then a larger percentage still will not be using IE!

It's Windows-specific due to the daft Windows Media DRM they're using.

Everyone with Windows has Internet Explorer installed, so hmph...

which is rubbish I can only get it on sky. How many Belgians are going to buy sky to watch english tv? Even if they did why shouldn't they be allowed to?

If i want to buy UK programmes as a european I should have the right to by TV from which ever country I want.

Same as Meatball, anyone got a link to a direct download?

And what ever happened with bbc's iMP trial? Did anything come of it?
