I've got 2 4pin molex to 6pin PCI-E adaptors, I assume there's no difference running my GFX off these instead of the 6pins? It'd let me sleeve these instead of the pins from the PSU.

Or better yet, anyone know where to get a 6+2 PCI-E extender? I need the +2 bit because I don't know what my next GFX update will be email in trust :)

Thanks

What power supply is it? If it's single rail then you'll be ok.

Remember that you need to use molex plugs coming from two different cables coming from the psu, not just two of them from the same cable. And preferably not use the other molex plugs on these cables.

I wouldn't do this myself. I've not seen a pci-e extension cable, but the sockets on the ends are standard so you should be able to make one up yourself. I think there's a company which sells replacement molex plugs and similar, so that may be an option.

Thanks OLDPHART but I needed it to be 6+2. At the minute my GFX uses a 6pin but who knows what my new upgrade will be so I wanted a 6+2 to cover all bases :)
