4th 360

Hey all,

I bought a 360 a few months ago and after about 2 weeks it decided to give me the 3 red lights so i took that back.
Now ive had 3 xbox 360s in the last 3 weeks and they all just decide to completly freeze after about 10 minutes being on... Theres no slowdown before they freeze it just does it.

Does anyone know what it could be? I was thinking ventilation but there is a lot of room behind, infront and next to my 360. It is horizontal.

I love the 360, really put the fun back into gaming for me but the fact i have to get a new one every week has just completly ruined it for me. :mad:
 
Shocking that you've gone through 3 already!
For them all to go in a short period of time would worry me that theres something wrong with where you are keeping it.

Are you sending them back to Microsoft or the shop? The shop might be giving you the same one back? Sounds stupid I know, but 3 in a short time is a worry.

Can't believe you said that! I hope your Xbox360 packs in now... mid game! ;)
 
Why did you send them back straight away?

My 360 has had it's fair share of freezes and red lights just after i bought it at release. It's been working fine ever since though thankfuly.

You dont take a pc back everytime it freezes ;)

P.s I also moved it :)
 
I returned it back to the shop and got a new one, 2nd one was bought from a different shop than the 3rd and 4th though, they were all made on the same manufacturing date though, could be a dodgy batch? Its a march console.
Ill try it vertically and move it somewhere else.

I would wait for the PS3 but the 360 is such a nice machine, plus i still don't think sony will make november so with the 360 i have something to do on an evening during the summer :)

I did give it a chance but freezing after 10 minutes of gameplay wasn't really worth having the console :p
 
Fair enough :) I didn't really like the fact that i forked out so much money on a console and it crashed all the time. But now it's fine, not crashed for weeks :D (although thats maybe because i haven't been playing PGR3, it was always PGR3 that crashed it.)
 
PGR3 crashed a lot if you bring up the Blade/Xbox Guide ingame.

Cant belive you've gone through 4 though :eek: - id def try keeping the new one else where just incase

I know the feeling I am on my third had it over two weeks now seem fine touch wood

The one I have now is dated on the back as 2006/3/2

Sound's like a jet engine when playing games if this dies I'll get another the 360 is awesome when it works.

still buying a wii and a ps3 this xmas should be fun

I back all my game saves up to Memory card despite having a premium. I dont trust the little white room heater.

I agree, if my current one dies then never mind, if the replacement goes I'll have my money back thank you, ta. Although I wouldn't get a PS3, I'd go back to either my xbox, GC or PS2 as I miss spending <£10 on a game :(

I am still thinking they opened a new plant in March and the dodgy ones are early runs from a new plant.
Sheesh christmas is gonna be a nightmare all these 'next gen' consoles going back, with the 360's breaking and the PS3's which are bound to break, i dunno what nintendo's early consoles are like though.
Saying that i've still got a launch PS2, fine, day of release PS2 slimline, and a launch 360, and none i have had any issues with (yet), seriously considering a memory card though. Wish MS would get a way to backup game saves on your PC/USB memory (even just backups and forcing u to still need mem card/hdd)

Mine is dated 1st March...haven't turned it on yet though because I dont have a VGA cable or game yet. I fear the worst though

Get trying it on a regular TV. Download a demo over marketplace and start playing.
 
Right ive turned it vertical, just about to try out GRAW see if we can get past the 10 minute mark :)

Also going to add all you guys to my friends list if thats ok.
