4x space games?

What's the most modern decent 4x game? And is there anything on the horizon. Have I missed stuff, or is this sector pretty dead.
Master of Orion was quality and galactic civilisation 2

Sins of a Solar Empire was updated late last year, its pretty good but not the step forward some may have hoped. Still, I guess its the most recent, and still a great game if you have the time to devote to it.

I do like Sins. Like you say though, you need the time to devote to it.. my average game lasts about 7-8hrs lol

I bought it at christmas and played 180 hours worth since then ... but semi bored with it now ...

Is pretty cool and the different races are quite interesting;

Im able to beat the computer on un(soemthing) setting the one above hard ...

only played single player so far but ya guess it was worth it.

Call me sad but I really like the star trek mod for sins, nothing like playing the Borg in a multiplayer scrap.

whatever newer games there are they surely cannot beat moo and moo2.

I also had star trek birth of the federation back in the day and wth mods is quite playable but has a bit of micromanagement

Distant Worlds is my favourite, loads of mods out there too. A little on the pricey side with the expansions but I much prefer it over the likes of sins.
