Hi,
Anyone know what i should be paying to get all 4 wheels balanced/checked?
Choices are kwik-fit, tyremen and bush tyres. all reasonably close to me.

Getting a slight wobble through the steering wheel at around 65mph+

It was a slightly strange one - i had a set of wheels refurbed, then the tyres fitted, however the guy didn't have the kit to balance them.

The £3.50 each included removing the old alloys from the car, balancing the new ones then fitting them to the car.

My local tyre place does mine for free, but I do use them for almost all our tyres

I don't want to come across as rude or anything like that whatsoever and i really do apologize if I do but I am just a curious person by nature.

I'd like to know what went through your head when you posted that and for what reason you posted that.

Once again, not trying to be rude or a smart-arse or anything like that.

LOL what a strange post to make? I normally pay about £10 per car so £2.50 a wheel.

Id say it does. He is clearly saying he gets it done for free as he buys tyres from there. If I buy a tyre from my place I expect it done for free and have never paid for it!

Yep, Regular customer so they're offering him a little extra. makes sense.
Going to call around this morning, tyremen are £26 all 4 so £6.50 a wheel.

pepsilol, phi1 is spot on, it was late last night and I was trying to figure out where I had so horribly wrong :S :D

I've just phoned Formula 1 Auto Centre in Porstmouth because they have a Hunter machine and it's £29.42 for a regular balance of all four or £41.66 on the Hunter.

I'm sure if you were buying and changing the tyres with them it would be included or subsidised within the cost.

Wheel balance is never free, its either added on as an inclusive cost (just paying for the tyres, but they are £10 more than they should be!) or they charge valve, balance and disposal when fitting new tyres.

You seem to be missing the point throughout this thread bledd.!

My point is that nothing is free, you buy tyres with "free balancing" its alread priced in. If you have the tyres then you'll get charged. In your case where you wouldnt because you use them a lot - its already been charged in your previous bills/next ones!

Its business and you NEVER get anything for nothing.

Jeremy clarkson put 4 Euro's with duck tape on his wheels and that seemed to stop it, I need to stop trolling.

Get a quote from somewhere?
